				          Job Description
The Water Quality Technician is responsible in carrying out the assigned routine inspections and service maintenance of the ALSS equipment and facilities in a related field; thus directly impacting the health and safety of animals, colleagues, contractors and guests, and Theme Park’s operations. This position requires standing in a prolonged period; moves/lifts up to 45kgs of load; works with hazardous chemicals and in confined spaces. This position requires working on a shifting schedules, including night shifts, weekends and public holidays. Select the Field of Expertise:  Pump Mechanic  Filtration Mechanic
GENERAL SCOPE:
- Performs routine inspections and maintenance services such as water tests and analysis, preventive and corrective maintenance in a related field
 -  Records accurate data of activities by completing the ALSS checklists and other documents 
 - Assists in the troubleshooting and repairs of the ALSS equipment and facilities 
 - Operates the Life Support System in accordance to the ALSS SOP and manual
 - Maintains the cleanliness and organization of all chemical drums, storage areas and workstations 
 - Utilizes safe handling, usage, storage, and disposal practices for chemicals, toxic substances and hazardous waste in accordance with the Health, Safety and Environmental policies and ALSS SOPs 
 - Maintains tools, parts, materials and equipment inventory; reports any missing and/or items for replenishments
 - Completes all required trainings; maintains professional development and competencies 
 - Performs other duties as directed by the ALSS leadership team 
 
TECHNICAL SCOPE FOR PUMP MECHANIC: 
- Assists on the inspections, diagnoses and major/minor repairs on all ALSS pumps, motors, hydraulic equipment, compressors, controls, valves and related equipment. 
 - Assists on the various analyses and inspections of mechanical systems to determine the most cost-effective means of maintenance, repair or replacements 
 - Ensures the continuous operation of all saltwater, freshwater and water treatment systems 
 
TECHNICAL SCOPE FOR FILTRATION MECHANIC: 
- Assists in the troubleshooting and repairing critical animal life support equipment, filtration systems, valves, heat exchangers, pumps, motor, fractionators, ozone systems, UV sterilizers and seawater lines. 
 - Performs routine maintenance on ALSS systems and equipment, including mechanical preventative maintenance, raw seawater line pigging and valve maintenance. 
 - Assists in the draining, filling and isolation of all habitats, holding pools, decretive pools and waterfalls.
 
To be considered for the role, you will need to have: 
- High School Diploma or equivalent
 - 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Aquatic Life Support Systems, Wastewater Treatment or Recreational Swimming Pool setting
 - Basic English communication skills, written/verbal. 
 - Basic knowledge in all basic mathematical applications 
 - Working knowledge to all basic hand tools and measuring devices in a related field 
 - Basic mechanical/technical troubleshooting skills
 
Pump Mechanic: 
- Basic understanding on how to diagnose and repair a verity of pump problems, from primary issues and cavitation to excessive vibration. 
 - Basic understanding on how to interpret pump curves. 
 - Basic mechanical/technical knowledge in ALSS, Public Pools or Wastewater Treatment 
 - Basic working knowledge of mechanics; motors, hydraulics, centrifugal and vertical pumps, compressors and liquid metering pumps
 
Filtration Mechanic:
- Basic understanding on how to interpret PID layout of systems and pipe installation 
 - Basic understanding of mechanical, chemical, and biological filtration as it applies to animal life support systems 
 - Basic working knowledge pertaining to the operation, troubleshooting of, maintenance and repairing various types of small pumps and related equipment 
 - Basic working knowledge of automated controls, pneumatics, electro-mechanical devices
