The purpose of our Jira Administrator is to manage, optimize, and scale our Jira instance. In this role, you will be responsible for configuring and maintaining our Jira environment, implementing automation solutions, and supporting our teams in leveraging Jira to its fullest potential.

  • Configure and maintain our Jira instance, including projects, workflows, screens, and issue types
  • Implement and manage user permissions, roles, and access controls
  • Design and build automated processes using Jira Automation, ScriptRunner, and other tools
  • Create and maintain custom fields, dashboards, and reports to meet business needs
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide timely support to end users
  • Document Jira configurations, processes, and best practices
  • Train users on Jira functionality and provide guidance on best practices
  • Collaborate with project managers and team leads to develop efficient workflows
  • Manage integrations between Jira and other systems (Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.)
  • Plan and execute Jira upgrades and maintenance activities
  • Monitor system performance and implement optimizations as needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience administering Jira in a professional environment
  • Experience with Jira apps like ScriptRunner, Structure, or Insight
  • Working knowledge of the Atlassian ecosystem (Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of SQL queries and database concepts
  • Experience with REST APIs and webhooks for system integration
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Atlassian certifications (Jira Administrator, etc.)
  • Experience with Groovy scripting for advanced automations
  • Knowledge of software development processes
  • Experience with cloud migrations and hybrid Jira environments
  • Understanding of ITIL or service management frameworks
  • Experience with data migration and instance consolidation
