A Fire Fighting Estimation Engineer is responsible for planning, estimating, and designing fire protection and firefighting systems for buildings, industrial plants, or infrastructure projects. The role involves analyzing fire hazards, calculating the required firefighting equipment and resources, and preparing cost and material estimates for fire safety solutions in compliance with regulatory codes and standards.

  • Assess fire risks and hazards in buildings, industrial sites, or infrastructure projects.
  • Estimate the type, quantity, and placement of firefighting equipment such as sprinklers, extinguishers, hydrants, and fire pumps.
  • Design fire suppression and alarm systems in accordance with local fire safety codes (e.g., NFPA, IFC, BS standards).
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for firefighting systems.
  • Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and safety consultants to integrate fire safety measures into project designs.
  • Evaluate and recommend materials and equipment for fire fighting systems.
  • Review project plans and specifications to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
  • Support procurement and tender processes with technical specifications and estimation details.
  • Conduct site visits for feasibility studies and post-installation inspections.
  • Keep abreast of latest fire safety technologies and regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of firefighting systems design and fire protection standards (e.g., NFPA codes, International Fire Code).
  • Experience with hydraulic calculations for sprinkler systems and other suppression systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) and estimation tools.
  • Understanding of fire alarm, detection, and emergency response systems.
  • Ability to prepare detailed technical and financial estimates.
  • Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with local fire safety regulations and permitting processes.
  • Experience in fire safety engineering, firefighting systems design, or construction project estimation.
  • Working knowledge of fire risk assessment methodologies.
  • Exposure to large-scale construction or industrial projects.
  • Certifications related to fire safety or firefighting systems (e.g., NFPA certifications).
