Job Title: Architect
Key Responsibilities:
- Architectural Design Review:
- Review architectural proposals, plans, projects, and ADGs, ensuring they reflect the cultural character of the region within the Saudi Arabian Architectural framework.
- Ensure technical soundness and adherence to high-quality design standards, while maintaining respect for local heritage and architectural traditions.
- Authority Compliance and Guidance:
- Assess architectural proposals' compliance with building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards and propose design adjustments for guidance within the regulatory framework and the cultural character. Understand the authority position for compliance.
- Conduct periodic reviews of regional and national regulatory updates.
- Issue regular reports related to compliance updates.
- Collaboration and Innovation:
- Work closely with other team members, including architects, engineers, consultants, and clients, to develop innovative architectural and public realm designs that adhere to the regulatory framework and the cultural character.
- Foster a collaborative design environment and contribute to integrated, well-coordinated architectural solutions.
- Ensure alignment with RDA and internal teams through regular coordination.
- Cultural Character Integration: Ensure the integration of the Saudi cultural design guidelines into all stages of design, from concept development, respecting local heritage, traditions, and aesthetics.
- Research for Design Guidance:
- Conduct or support academic research related to architectural identity, particularly with respect to Saudi Arabia and neighboring countries, and incorporate findings into design practices and new guidelines and manuals.
- Include findings in internal design manuals and periodic briefs.
- Inspection:
- Inspect the development of architectural projects, ensuring designs meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
- Confirm that architectural outputs comply with design standards, technical quality benchmarks, and cultural identity guidelines.
- Mentorship and Documentation
- Support internal training and mentoring.
- Document training processes and provide follow-up reports on quality.

Required Qualification :
- Degree in Architecture.
- Master’s Degree is a plus
- Academic research or published studies related to architectural identity, cultural heritage, or design standards—particularly within the Saudi or Middle Eastern context—are highly valued.
Required Experience:
- Minimum Years of experienced (6-8 years ) of experience in architecture design, with a proven track record of successfully leading architectural projects.
- Experience in preparing architectural and public realm guidelines, codes and standards, and experience in permitting and compliance is preferred.
- Experience in the implementation of architectural styles or style guidelines, preferably among the Middle East architectural identities.
- Experience in academic research or studies related to architectural identity and character, preferably focused on Saudi Arabia or neighboring countries, is desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
- Design Experience is a must.
- Strong understanding of architectural software and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite).
- Familiarity with the Authority’s role in permitting and compliance and regional building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
- Knowledge of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiatives and its impact on architectural practices is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present designs clearly and collaborate with a diverse team.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to develop creative and practical design solutions while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and client needs.
- Knowledge of regional architecture and cultural practices specific to Saudi Arabia or neighboring countries.
- Experience with large-scale, high-profile architectural projects.
- Passion for innovative and sustainable design practices that honor cultural heritage.
- Team Coordination and Design Leadership: Strong ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, facilitate design discussions, and propose contextually appropriate and creative architectural solutions.
