- Lead, motivate, and oversee a team of logistics operatives (e.g. pickers, loaders) responsible for consolidation.
- Monitor individual and team performance, ensuring adherence to productivity targets, quality standards, and established processes.
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and ensure compliance with procedures.
- Foster a safe, disciplined, and productive work environment.
- Directly oversee and ensure the accurate picking, packing, staging, and loading of goods for consolidated shipments.
- Conduct regular quality checks on consolidated loads to prevent errors, damage, and discrepancies before dispatch.
- Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day operational issues related to consolidation, escalating complex problems to management as needed.
- Coordinate effectively with the inbound, warehousing, and dispatch teams to ensure a smooth flow of goods for consolidation and timely handover for transportation.
- Communicate daily operational status, challenges, and completion rates to the Logistics/Operations Manager.
- Ensure all necessary physical documentation (e.g., packing lists, manifests, loading summaries) is accurately completed by the team.
- Actively use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant logistics software to track progress, update shipment statuses, and record consolidation activities.
- Assist in collecting and verifying data for performance reports related to consolidation efficiency, accuracy, and utilization rates.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards in the consolidation area.
