Job Summary:

The Hostess is responsible for greeting guests as they arrive, managing reservations and waitlists, and guiding guests to their tables. A hostess ensures a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere while maintaining an organized flow of guests in the dining area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly and professionally as they enter the venue.
  • Manage reservations and waitlists using a reservation system or manual log.
  • Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and assist with takeout or reservations.
  • Communicate wait times accurately and manage seating flow efficiently.
  • Ensure the front desk and entrance area are clean and well-presented at all times.
  • Coordinate with servers and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Handle guest complaints or direct them to the appropriate manager.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanour at all times.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous customer service or hostess experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
