Job Summary:
The Hostess is responsible for greeting guests as they arrive, managing reservations and waitlists, and guiding guests to their tables. A hostess ensures a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere while maintaining an organized flow of guests in the dining area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and professionally as they enter the venue.
- Manage reservations and waitlists using a reservation system or manual log.
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and assist with takeout or reservations.
- Communicate wait times accurately and manage seating flow efficiently.
- Ensure the front desk and entrance area are clean and well-presented at all times.
- Coordinate with servers and management to ensure smooth operations.
- Handle guest complaints or direct them to the appropriate manager.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanour at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous customer service or hostess experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
