The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Internal Communications is responsible for spearheading the creation and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy that effectively aligns with the Council’s overarching business goals, key performance priorities, and market insights. As a valued advisor to the Director of Communications, Human Capital, Executive Directors, and various stakeholders, the SVP guarantees consistent, transparent, and engaging communication throughout the organization.<\/p>
Main Responsibilities:
• Support in devising an effective internal communications strategy taking into account the Council’s business strategy, performance, and market outlook.
• Working closely with stakeholders across the business and providing advice and assistance across a variety of areas, including but not limited to:
Internal Communications
• Work with teams to design and implement the Council’s internal communications strategy.
• Monitor the effectiveness of the Council’s internal communications strategy and assess the individual departmental needs for communication through a variety of channels.
• Recommend new internal communication tactics and policies.
• Responsible for the creation of all internal content.
• In conjunction with the Council’s HR department, facilitate and support employee engagement initiatives.
• Reviews and approves all Council-wide communication and facilitates the collection and dissemination of integrated organizational news.
• Develop and execute communications programs and processes that help employees connect with the strategic vision and values.
• Share business strategies in a clear, compelling and consistent manner.
• Support an environment where employees can feel proud to work for the Council by celebrating successes at all levels throughout the Council and making a strong contribution to an environment in which openness and honesty is valued.
• Manage and minimize risk associated with internal communications activities.
Corporate Communications
• Support in delivering corporate communications plans, bringing together key stakeholders from across the business and managing the plan from inception to delivery.
• Develop thorough communications strategies and execute tactics to support the roll-out of relevant and key business announcements in line with the company’s overall communications strategy.
• Develop and maintain the Council’s communications and procedures documentation, ensuring that all communications are compliant and timely.
• Provide senior management with regular reports on how the media/investor/analyst community are evaluating the Council and in relation to its peers.
• Develop detailed briefing and preparatory materials for potential engagements.
• Create talking points and key messages for meetings, speeches, presentations, media engagements and other interactions.
• Ensure content quality and adherence to the Council's tone of voice.
Content Development and Management
• Oversee the development of multimedia content for digital channels and ensure content is up to the correct standards and quality, ensuring the Council’s image, Brand and reputation are represented well.

•Plan, lead and execute digital communication platform initiatives and services including the corporate website, corporate applications and online social media platforms to maximize reach, and ensure the Council image, brand and reputation is well communicated and visible to all internal and external stakeholders.
•Identify new functionalities and enhancements to the website and other digital services, including websites, microsites, emails, e-newsletters, etc. and provide recommendations to optimize communication and enhance stakeholder engagement.
Additional Responsibilities
•Actively participates in, and may take responsibility for, Council-wide and/or department-wide initiatives outside the core Corporate & Business Communications paradigm, for example recruitment, Council-wide projects etc.
•Facilitates the introduction of new media, new technologies and web capabilities to drive a more efficient communications strategy.
•Oversees the development and management of the Council’s brand. Regularly reviews current brand standards, guidelines, toolkits, and documentation.
•Build and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders, advising, influencing and executing clear plans and timelines.
•Keeps abreast of key developments in the business, relates them to necessary changes in the communications policy and forecasts their impact on the overall business.
•Budget planning – ensure communications budgets for key projects, events, and initiatives are used effectively and in line with Council policies and procedures.
