Job Summary:

The MEL Coordinator will support MEL team to implement Monitoring and Evaluation functions and activities adhering to Women's Economic and Social Empowerment Program in Cairo governorate. S/He will be responsible for the data entry, verification, and collection from community organizations and private sector with the insurance of the data quality and consistency of entered data into the MEL system.

The MEL Coordinator will be dealing with field raw data and reports received from NGOs and private sector firms at the primary level to be compiled into solid reports under the supervision and guidance of the Senior Data Officer in compliance with MEL system requirements along with global best practices and Pathfinder standards.

Main Job Responsibilities:

Data Management and Entry:

  • Collect, compile, and input relevant program records, participant data, and outcome data into the MEL system.
  • Create and manage a tracking document by date, summarizing all program activities for easy reference.


Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Review data for quality assurance, correcting any discrepancies and ensuring compliance with data integrity and security policies.
  • Conduct consistency checks between entered data and supporting documentation.


Documentation and Reporting:

  • Transcribe recorded audio of FGDs and KIIs, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Generate reports based on compiled and verified data, storing completed work appropriately.


Digital Filing System Management:

  • Maintain and be responsible for the program's digital filing system, ensuring organized and secure storage of documents.
  • Respond to queries for information promptly and provide access to relevant files when needed.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient filing system for supporting documents, ensuring accuracy and consistency.


Field Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Conduct field visits to program implementation areas in NGOs and private sector firms.
  • Monitor activities during field visits, ensuring the quality of data collection and reporting.


Minimum Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in demography, statistics, social sciences, evaluation, political science, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience that yields the required competencies.
  • 1 to 3 years of progressively responsible experience in data collection and data entry in development programs or equivalent.


Preferred Education and Work Experience:

  • Experience in previous USAID or international program-related positions is preferred.
  • Language Proficiency: Level III (intermediate) oral and written English and level IV (fluent) oral and written Arabic.


Minimally Required Job-Specific Competencies:

  • Excellent experience in using MS -Office applications (Excel is a Must).
  • Experience in using paper-based / digital data collection tools.
  • Familiarity with administrative duties.
  • Experience using office equipment, like scanners and printers.
  • Typing speed and accuracy.
  • Excellent knowledge of correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Organization skills, with an ability to stay focused on assigned tasks.
  • High level of communication and problem-solving/resolution skills
  • Ability to work in multi- focused program, organize and prioritize workload, and meet multiple deadlines with minimum supervision


Minimally Required Organizational Competencies:

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Knowledge of and ability to apply data collection criteria to include appropriateness, accuracy, and high quality, and collected and analyzed from an ethical perspective. Knowledge of and ability to analyze data from diverse sources and identify key trends and gaps in information Ability to apply analytical skills to synthesize data where relevant Identifies unintended results.
  • Database Management: Ability to maintain an effective and efficient database management system.
  • Research Tool Development: Knowledge of and ability to develop and apply appropriate data collection tools
