We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer - Expert to join our team.

Engineers will support manual and automated testing to identify software problems and their causes in an agile scrum sprint development environment. Candidates must have experience in automation tool(s) and scripting, hands on experience with test tools and the ability to translate customer and systems requirements into test cases in a Linux, Windows, AWS, Java, and scripting environment.

 

Primary Job Duties & Required Experience:

·        Provide end-to-end administration and management for Sponsor’s proprietary systems workflow in support of training.

·        Scheduling pilot and deployment dates.

·        Submitting activity requests for approval to deploy.

·        Working on multiple networks.

·        Coordinating pilots for all appropriate platforms.

·        Supporting, troubleshooting, and providing technical resolution for escalated service requests for users and customers on existing operating systems and/or application specific related issues.

·        Identifying risks and deficiencies, gathering requirements, performing R&D, performing testing and quality assurance (QA), and providing releases and implementations.

·        Responsible for the staging, piloting, and full deployment of releases to production within a DevOps environment for Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), creating and editing new and existing Group Policy Objects (GPOs).

·        Providing recommendations for engineering solutions.​

·        Scripting, database query (SQL), and experience collecting, ingesting, analyzing, visualizing machine data and dashboard creation and maintenance.

·        Have extensive experience in systems engineering, application deployment, and AWS, Windows and Linux operating environments.

·        Must be familiar with working in an agile environment and skilled in some form of scripting, and possess technical problem solving and trouble shooting skills.

 

Job Requirements

·        Active TS/SCI + Full Scope Poly U.S. Government Security is required

·        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline

·        Eleven (11) years of relevant professional work experience

·        Must have demonstrated engineering and support experience with the software product suites working, configuring, deploying, and maintaining to the enterprise.

·        Demonstrated experience with building and configuring programs for enterprise security continuous monitoring and cyber security incident response and management. 

·        Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality

·        Strong interpersonal skills, especially the ability to network and establish professional relationships

·        Ability to prioritize, demonstrated strong organizational skills, and ability to meet or exceed deadlines

 

Physical Demands: Position will require frequent sitting, standing, and/or mobility within an office setting.  Employee must be able to use hands to complete work at a workstation/computer, be able to reach, type and manipulate with hands, fingers, and arms; lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; talk, see and hear.

 

Work Environment: Work is performed on client site in a professional office environment with moderate stress and noise levels.  Position requires employee to effectively use a computer, potentially for long periods of time, and to accommodate potentially frequent interruptions.  Candidate should be both customer-focused and present a team approach to overall work.

 

Schedule:  Business core hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET. Standard work hours may vary for this position based upon contract requirements. Position will be located onsite at a customer facility in Herndon, VA.
