Connect sourcing imperatives with the product lines strategies and to aim at creating One team by increasing collaboration and synergies with different stakeholders in the work location, other functions, regions, and business lines.

In this role, you will involve all Sourcing activities such as; supplier / subcontractor qualification and onboarding in the Inquiry to Order (ITO) opportunity preparation & optimization. You will identify risk & opportunities, manage a vendor list based on Global Sourcing strategy, identify risk & opportunities, seek sustainable competitiveness improvements, supports the regional product optimization initiatives during ITO opportunity preparation. Additionally you will lead the sourcing activities in the Order to Revenue (OTR) and implement sourcing process and procedures with value addition.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead Africa the sourcing operation in Saudi & Pakistan and lead global initiatives and global Frame Agreements are applied and implemented.
  • Define Supplier’s strategy including management and optimization of supplier’s and subcontractor’s panels. Lead negotiations and allocate needs to specific suppliers or subcontractors.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement. Manage claims. Includes commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support and more. This may also include purchasing activities.
  • Understand and address market dynamic and trends, and how they impact GE’s customers, suppliers, competitors and the company in terms of price, cash, production costs, global capacity, lead time, internal and supplier capability, barriers to entry and supplier buyer leverage points.
  • Participate proactively with the tendering team and support the team in winning the tender. Provide accurate competitive pricing based on forecasted supply Market dynamics and related labour and material foreseen risks.
  • For sourcing activities, within the sourcing community, using the supplier's intelligence, review and agree on the general & technical specifications regarding the conditions as per GE standards.
  • Ensure directives and procedures are adhered to and improved. This includes proper processing of business needs/Purchase Request in a timely and accurate manner. It also covers proper use of tools and processes.
  • Actively drive cost savings and efficiency improvements for sourcing operations and overall activities.
  • Select, negotiate and qualify new vendors in conjunction with Supplier Management Team and based on input/feedback from sourcing community, operations, etc. Maintain right level of supplier panel and make strategy for Dynamic Supplier Panel.
  • Promote country sourcing and develop new sourcing opportunities in cooperation with KCM.
  • Support other sourcing activities (KCM, Tender, Project, Upstream, Supplier management…) in their sourcing actions, providing the necessary support in terms of negotiation, supplier performance improvement plans etc.
  • Develop a strong relationship with major and monopolistic suppliers. Manage and maintain strategic and close relations with subcontractors’ and subcontractors’ decision makers and key stakeholders.
  • Organize in KPI reporting, performance analysis and any other required action items
  • Continue implementing the sourcing transformation initiatives as defined at sector / cluster level.
  • Collaborate with Sourcing community and team on all areas of sourcing activities, as needed
  • Understand sourcing risks, perform risk assessments of supply base and formulates mitigation strategies.
  • Lead and manage the country sourcing team to ensure performance standards, annual objectives, policies and procedures are met
  • Ensure the team has the right level of know-how and competency to perform their responsibilities through coaching and development
  • Regularly manage and review performance of employees according to GE Performance Management cycle (PMC)
  • Comply with Quality Procedures, work instructions and Processes in ebook and on site
  • Report or resolve any non-conformances and process in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate EHS leadership and ensure Zero Deviation Plan is implemented within the team

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experiences in project sourcing and people management
  • Bachelor’s Degree Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • Fluency in French, English and Arabic
  • Extensive sourcing experience and familiar with QCD indicators and local frame agreement preparations
  • Demonstrate a track record of leading organizations to high levels of performance
  • Excellent negotiation and sourcing skills
