You will be working as HSE Specialist and will be part of Electrification business area for Distribution Solutions division based in Cairo, Egypt. In this role you will be reporting to HSE Manager and will be responsible to improving HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) performance in the respective organization (eg, business area, division, site) to embed an exemplary health and safety culture as well as a strong focus on the environment. Supports the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice and ensures effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain.

Your responsibilities

• Reporting HSE incidents, providing feedback on lessons learned as well as best practices from both own unit and across ABB, to management and employees, reporting progress on the implementation of ABB group sustainability objectives and KPIs (key performance indicators) for the ABB Group, as required
• Implementing policies and standards, ensuring the area of responsibility is audited, assisting line managers and supervisors in understanding obligations, liabilities and role fulfillment, according to local HSE law as well as ABB Group and business-specific requirements
• Facilitating HSE risk assessment by line management of shop floor employees, ie, those directly affected by hazards and ensuring all processes are implemented, driving behavioral change through the local implementation of group-wide and business-specific performance improvement programs and practices
• Embedding an exemplary health and safety culture, as well as a strong focus on the environment, throughout the respective organization, engaging external stakeholders (eg, customers, suppliers, relevant authorities) and internal stakeholders to report on, raise awareness of, gain commitment to and obtain objective feedback on ABB's HSE efforts and performance
• Cooperating with other functions and business partners to drive HSE performance, ensuring that the appropriate safety equipment and tools are available and used, identifying, planning and initiating training needs, e.g. for employees, site managers
• Driving and ensuring compliance with group management systems, contributing to and/or plans and executing HSE-related projects, developing and reporting on project objectives, managing project resources such as staffing, financials and other relevant factors
  
  

Your background

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical engineering or mechanical or mechatronics
• Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in relevant field
• Holds a NEBOSH certificate ‘IGC’.
• Robust knowledge towards ISO standards (45001:2018 & 14001:2015)
• Targets oriented, good communicator on various levels, very good presentation skills, detailed oriented and very good leadership skills
• Fluency in both English, Arabic.
