Chemical-Biological Program Policy Analyst

The Opportunity

As a defense security policy analyst, you'll bring your knowledge and expertise to work on projects. You'll serve on a team that supports oversight and management of the DoD chemical agents and biological select agents and toxins (BSAT) security programs. These duties will require you to support the development, revision, and coordination of DoD directives, instructions, and issuances related to chemical and biological (CB) agent safety, surety, and security.Additionally, you'll draft responses to findings and recommendations from the DoD on chemical agents and BSAT security.

You Have

  • 10+ years of experience with working in a professional or academic environment
  • Experience with being an Action Officer within the DoD
  • Experience in working with chemical and biological agent safety, surety, and security policies and issues in the DoD or interagency
  • Experience with developing and coordinating DoD directives, instructions, and issuances
  • Experience with providing technical expertise and leading efforts, including action groups, councils, process teams, and working groups
  • Experience with supporting day-to-day program oversight and implementation of DoD CB agent security policies by national and DoD policies, including policy coordination and development, resolution of policy interpretation and implementation issues and questions, resolution of findings and recommendations from the DoD, developing waivers and exceptions to policy, and responding to Congressional and public inquiries and requests for information
  • Experience with providing interagency coordination, including implementation and harmonization of DoD and Federal biosecurity policies and Executive Orders, and coordinating and interacting in interagency working groups and bodies
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have

  • Experience with conducting DoD and contractor-owned contractor-operated site inspections of laboratories and facilities
  • Experience with developing technical materials or leading efforts at action groups, councils, process teams, and working groups
  • Experience in coordinating with the interagency on policy issues
  • Experience with aligning program policies to national and DoD policies
  • Ability to work in a high-demand, high-paced environment
  • Ability to support the review and revision of chemical agent and BSAT security policy and the approval and disapproval of waivers and exceptions

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
