Director of Communications and Public Relations (Project-based)

The Communications & PR Director controls and oversees the flow of communication and information between El Gouna Film Festival and the public. Their main duties include managing the communications departments within the festival and acting as the face of the festival at media events, media channels, and public relations campaigns. The ideal candidate adapts easily to new situations, people, culture, and technology and is always challenging the status quo.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop effective messaging and communication strategies.
  • Oversees the creation of promotional and informative materials the festival will send to the public and with internal GFF communications.
  • Identifying and engaging with influencers, journalists, and other media outlets on social media to generate buzz and coverage for the festival.
  • Manages all forms of media, including broadcast media, and relation productions.
  • Responding to crises or challenging situations quickly and professionally
  • Continuously looking to improve and execute multimedia content, including videos, podcasts, and infographics.
  • Ensures all festival materials have consistent and positive messaging and branding
  • Conduct quality control on all communications. (Mc opening & closing Ceremony)
  • Develop relationships and work with media outlets and other companies.
  • Design and develop standards for communication success
  • Develop and monitor metrics to measure the reach and impact of communications and to identify areas of success and opportunity.
  • Lead PR production and distribution (including the drafting of press releases and communications with local, regional, and national media outlets).
  • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of all communication platforms and report on results and their contribution to the overall GFF marketing/communications efforts.
  • Prepare budgets based on plans and ROI forecasts.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing, social media, and content marketing.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in managing budgets and allocating resources effectively.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
