Senior Vice President – Government Projects Scheduling

Job Purpose

  • Monitor all project plans adherence to their initial schedule
  • Ensure that schedule progress is accurately reported to management & Government Entities
  • Identify risks and delays with mitigation plans

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Develop policies and procedures related to project scheduling and progress monitoring
  • Develop Aldar projects high-level pre-construction and construction planning in conjunction with the project teams, to identify critical path and alternate schedules
  • Review plan against schedule developed by Contractors to ensure realistic timeframes and recommend changes
  • Promote creative thinking among contractors' teams and different stakeholders to utilize digital platforms for project collaboration, monitoring, and reporting
  • Provide support and input during project feasibility phases
  • Coordinate with project teams to track progress on project plan and adherence to schedule
  • Identify and raise deviations from the plan to the senior manager, assess impact on project and liaise with project teams to notify them of potential delays
  • Address deviations and coordinate the resolution of issues together with concerned internal and external parties
  • Support project teams in identifying opportunities for improvement, risks and areas where additional effort is required
  • Develop reporting templates and prepare regular reports to assess Aldar projects portfolio adherence to schedule
  • Provide regular reporting on project progress to the management incl. risks and mitigations
  • Provide regular reports to government entities and relevant entities on construction progress, including comprehensive updates on project status, achievements, challenges, potential delays, risks and other metrics like sustainability
  • Collaborate with the government sector to ensure swift and accurate exchange of information and streamlined reporting
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams in a digital-forward environment
  • Strategize and oversee the implementation of advanced project management systems
  • Overseeing the implementation of a suitable Project Management System (PMS) to streamline project management business processes, collaboration, and communication
  • Managing the design & implementation of a progress monitoring application to accurately input project data and progress updates/risks/achievements
  • Utilize insights from past projects to establish a culture of continuous learning and improvement and engage in benchmarking against industry standards to elevate project scheduling and execution practices
  • Explore opportunities to leverage digitization in planning and construction processes. (scheduling benchmarking and standardization /analysis and creation, cost estimates benchmarking, dashboards, ADEO quarterly billing cycle)


Qualifications & Experience

RELATED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

Min of: 12+ years of experience in planning, scheduling & control of projects at least AED 100 million in value with large establishments [annual revenue of at least AED 2 billion]

MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE:

Min of: 4+ years of managerial experience leading a team.

FIELD OF EXPERIENCE:

  • Project Scheduling / Construction
  • Setting up


TECHNICAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge and exposure to the GCC & governmental sector
  • Deep understanding of project phases & government relations
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire teams towards embracing digital change and innovative thinking
  • Adept at handling multiple stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills required to identify and propose solutions for any schedule slippage/cost overrun issues
  • Attention to detail to monitor and track schedule


QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or equivalent
  • Master’s degree is preferable
