Job Description
Job Purpose:
- Develop, prepare, and review technical designs for directional signs and billboard locations and follow up on their implementation with all concerned parties in a way that improves accessibility and enhances integration between means of transportation by providing means of traffic control and transportation in the emirate, and prepares, reviews and updates policies and technical guides related to traffic signs, directional signs and land markings and ensures compatibility. Road project designs with the authority’s guides and policies
- Ensuring compliance with technical guidelines, laws, and adopted policies regarding the provision of traffic control measures.
- Reviewing the outputs of traffic impact studies to apply relevant technical standards and specifications for road signs, directional signs, and pavement markings as per the requirements of the traffic impact study guide provided by the authority.
- Studying the technical requirements from government entities for advertising sites related to various events associated with the country or government and semi-government departments, according to requests received from the Department of Commercial and Investment through the electronic advertising system.
- Reviewing and approving all types of road signs, directional signs, pavement markings, street names, and house numbers for road projects, development projects, and addressing system-related projects during the design and implementation stages
- Reviewing all preliminary and final designs for road projects and projects related to public transportation facilities to ensure compliance with integration requirements and flexible pedestrian movement within the pedestrian realm
Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering/Transportation Engineering, City Design or Urban Design.
- 7 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of transportation performance and scheduling is preferred.
- Knowledge of technical guidelines for designing transportation means, signs, and guidelines for pedestrian walkways and the needs of people with disabilities.
- Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinizing, improving, and streamlining complex work processes .
- Computer-literate performer with extensive software proficiency covering wide variety of applications.
- Results-driven achiever with exemplary planning and organizational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation .
