Job description:
Your Role:
The Logistics Lead is responsible for the end to end logistics in Egypt for the Lipton Tea business. This includes the back of factory logistics, managing 3rd party logistics providers (3PL), import and export operations, as well as managing primary transport, secondary transport and warehousing and logistics operations across the geography, ensuring service to customers and delivering year on year improvements and cost savings via the team. You will be responsible to lead and develop the logistics team within the country to support the growth ambition of the company.
Your Key Tasks:
- Drive service to customers (warehousing and secondary transport) in coordination with Customer Service and Supply & Demand Planning teams
- Responsible for the imports and exports logistics for the Egypt business
- Responsible to manage the 3PLs, contracts and service and cost performance
- Drive Logistics operational costs measured as %TO, through efficiency, network optimizations, innovative ways of working across the transport and warehousing space
- Drive sustainability within logistics in the MU
- Support customer engagements with Country SC and Customer Service management to create value and build relationships with the trade, including value creation capabilities from logistics
- Develop and agree a strategy for the future tea distribution in the country together with the Go to market teams and move the organisation towards it
- Identify opportunities to improve key performance metrics, develop proposals to develop these opportunities, and implement where feasible
Stakeholder Management and Key Interfaces:
- SC teams managing the inbound and outbound planning
- Finance team
- Sales and Marketing operations team
- Engagement with MU-level strategy and performance management forums
- Reports to the AMET MU Logistics Lead
Key Interfaces:
- Sourcing units, Planning functions, Customer Service teams, Other TeaCo Logistics units outside your geography
- BB/ CD / Finance / IT team
External:
- 3PL suppliers, product suppliers, freight carriers, Customs and Govt authorities involved with shipments
Skills and Experience:
ESSENTIAL
- University degree
- Significant Supply Chain and/or Logistics experience in FMCG or other relevant industry (Retailer and 3PL environment)
PREFERRED
- Science, Engineering or Economics degree, ideally with a Logistics or Supply Chain element
Must Have:
- Fluent in English
- Strong project management skills
- Strong financial and business acumen
- Building and managing Teams, ideally cross-country & virtual Teams
