Job Description

  • Leadership: Provide strong leadership and direction to the operations team, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage operational budgets, controlling expenses and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Project Management: Oversee project planning, scheduling, and execution, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with upper management to develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the organization's overall goals.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the allocation of resources, including technicians and repair personnel, equipment, and materials, assigning tasks, and ensuring work is carried out efficiently.
  • Inventory Management: Supervise inventory control, including ordering of replacement parts, receiving, storage, and overall management of the spare parts inventory.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly assess and report on the performance of all repair facilities.
  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct performance evaluations for team members, providing feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that operational processes and outputs meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations and safety regulations.
  • Innovation: Encourage innovation and continuous improvement in processes and technologies. Identify and implement technological solutions to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Establish an effective maintenance plan for all assets, tools, and equipment.
  • Customer Service: Interacting with clients to understand their operational needs, address concerns, providing cost estimates, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and oversee work process designs, cost estimates, and new services introductions and to facilitate a positive impact on productivity, profitability, accountability, and service.
  • Ensure a robust Health and Safety system is in place across the department including regular updates, training, and briefings exceeding group safety targets.
  • Ensure the use of all equipment, as well as employee’s actions, adhere to Health & Safety procedures, employment law standards, and Company policy at all times. Follow through forcefully on any H&S incidents within your remit and instill an attitude of continuous improvement and process excellence.
  • Promote and facilitate close working relationships with departments such as terminal operations, engineering, commercial and others within the group, sourcing for synergies and potential opportunities aligning with the overall group vision.
  • Ensure robust recruitment and induction and an ongoing development program is in place for the business services area as well as an up-to-date succession plan for key roles and key individuals.
  • Perform annual and half yearly staff appraisals ensuring all staff have clear and meaningful objectives.
