About the role

We are looking for an Operations Team Leader to work in our Cold Store in South Kirkby. To consistently deliver a great service by truly putting our colleagues and members at the heart of what we do.

You will assist the Operations Supervisor in co-ordinating the team of colleagues to consistently deliver outstanding performance, excellent standards and who demonstrate an uncompromising view on the service we ultimately provide to our members.

Deliver the day to day operation of the department through routine processes and practices.

Reporting into the Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the team are motivated to deliver the day to day delivery of the Cold Store department, as well as ensuring the accurate physical and systematic flow of stock throughout the business.

• Effectively communicate with and co-ordinate the team of departmental colleagues to consistently deliver an excellent department

• Ensure standards remain high and continually look for ways to improve

• Ensure that all Health, Safety & Environmental policies and practices are upheld, whilst proactively encouraging your team to promote a culture of good HSE practice

• Continuously review waste within your department and seek solutions to reduce wastage where possible

Support and assist the Operations Supervisor with:

  • Attending mid-shift management meetings
  • Daily huddles, ensuring all tasks set are completed efficiently by team members
  • Staff performance and absence management, return to work meetings, recording accidents and near misses
  • Development plans of colleagues, by making recommendations and coaching rising stars
  • Creating an engaging department where colleagues are trusted by our members and are aware that they are at the heart of everything we do
  • Ensuring our colleagues uphold our culture and deliver an expectational member experience.

Conducting stock control functions including:

  • Activation of item card, price changes & relevant promotions within NAVision (our internal system) for cold store product
  • Conduct physical & systematic counts against supplier advice, and ensuring that receipted stock is captured correctly on the system
  • Ensure the quarantine goods procedure is followed at all times, including the receipt and management of stock returned from retail
  • Investigating stock inaccuracies on a day to day basis, dealing with integrity issues with adjustment journals to ensure a high level of picking fulfilment, reporting any issues to the Stock Control Management team
  • Conducting cycle counting functionality on a weekly basis to ensure integrity, working with the Stock Control Management team to report any issues
  • Liaising with Stock Control Management to ensure stock integrity for all Cold Store Division products, including supporting on audits conducted by the management team
  • Any additional departmental tasks as and when required

• Knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) is desirable

Location: South Kirkby, West Yorkshire, WF9 3AP

Rate of pay: £11.95 per hour paid on a four weekly basis

Shifts/Hours: 40 hours per week working 7am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday.
