About The Role


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Haulage Manager to lead our fleet of 150+ rental trucks, while also managing additional per trip trucks from third-party logistics providers (3PL).

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fleet management, logistics, and team leadership. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of haulage operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities


Fleet Management:

  • Lead and supervise a large fleet of 150+ rental trucks, ensuring optimal utilization and performance.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance fleet efficiency, minimize downtime, and reduce operational costs.
  • Monitor fleet performance metrics, analyze data, and implement improvements to maximize productivity and profitability.
  • Coordinate with rental providers to ensure timely maintenance and repair of vehicles, minimizing disruptions to operations.


Logistics Coordination:

  • Manage the integration of additional per trip trucks from third-party logistics providers (3PL) into existing operations.
  • Coordinate with 3PL partners to ensure seamless scheduling, dispatching, and tracking of trucks to meet customer demands.
  • Implement effective routing and scheduling strategies to optimize delivery timelines.
  • Resolve any logistical issues or challenges that arise during operations, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on service levels.


Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of coordinators, dispatchers, and support staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the haulage team.


Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing haulage operations, including transportation laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards, promoting a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Investigate and report any accidents or incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.




Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in fleet management, logistics, or transportation operations, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of haulage operations, including vehicle maintenance, routing, scheduling, and compliance.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and customers.
  • Solid understanding of relevant regulations and industry standards governing haulage operations, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), fleet tracking software, and other relevant technology tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
