Tech Lead

Your Day In a Nutshell Might Include

• Helping senior and mid-level engineers grow their skills and experience.
• Developing features and improvements to our product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way.
• Determining project requirements and developing work schedules for the team.
• Delegating tasks and achieving daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
• Collaborating with Product Management and other stakeholders to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative agile environment.
• Crafting code that meets our standards for style, maintainability, and best practices while maintaining and advocating for these standards through code review.
• Documenting the development process, architecture, and standard components.
• Staying up to date with new trends and best practices.
• Participating in all phases of the development life cycle.
• Getting involved and participating in the overall application lifecycle.

You Fit The Bill If

• You have 7+ years of full-time work experience in software engineering, information technology, or related domains, including 2+ years in leading teams.
• You are a product-minded developer who cares about the “Why” - Why build this feature? How will we measure impact?
• You are interested in working in a cross-functional team that touches many of the core systems and user flows at Cartona.
• You have proficiency in one or more backend server languages (Ruby/Python/Java/Go/C++/etc.), and expertise in popular storage systems such as relational databases and caching , in addition to building cloud native applications using K8S. Don't have experience with many of them? No problem — deep experience with any object-oriented language and a willingness to learn our tech stack goes a long way.
• You have exposure to Ruby on Rails, Ionic, Angular, Flutter
• You are experienced in clean code principles.
