You will be working as Mechanical Project Engineer and will be part of Electrification business area for Smart Power division based in Cairo, Egypt. In this role you will be reporting to LVS Mechanical Engineering Team Lead and will be responsible to support ABB’s Business strategy by developing and managing a preferred supply base that enhances ABB’s competitiveness and success of our customers.

Your responsibilities

• Performing all the activities related to assigned orders including preparation of drawings, BOM, schematics and mechanical drawings
• Following all license documents related to the product and being sure of following ABB processes related to this activity
• Evaluating, selecting and applying standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments
• Providing technical support for testing, installation and commissioning activities, preparing project documentation within one’s scope of deliverables, actively participating project meetings and resolving any outstanding technical issues to meet contractual obligations
• Assisting in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.)
• Coordinating with manufacturing and testing functions to ensure the technical solutions are appropriately manufactured/ staged and tested
• Identifying and implementing variation requests to support contract claims based on the approval from project manager
• Must be in direct interaction with key clients as input for product marketing, supporting clients in the favor of the company by promoting ABB products and leaving positive impression about ABB
  
  

Your background

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Production or mechatronics (5 years degree)
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in switch gears or sheet metal works, SolidWorks with advanced level including sheet metal, sheet metal design and manufacturing techniques, metal work and metal forming process, familiar with engineering material
• Good knowledge about ISO 9001 requirements coupled with good knowledge of IEC and relevant standards is a must
• Fluency in both English & Arabic language is mandatory
