Reports to: Cairo Site Leader; and a member of Cairo Site Leadership Team (SLT).

Position Purpose: Provides leadership for the Production Operations at Cairo manufacturing organization to deliver on core pillars of compliance, safety, quality, supply, cost, people, and community.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Supply Chain Planning team to ensure the availability of products based on changing commercial requirements and opportunities.
  • Monitor the production schedule execution.
  • Ensure rapid and effective resolution of manufacturing related issues through working with related stakeholders including global functions (Quality, Technical Services, etc.)
  • Work closely with different stakeholders (Global Technical Services, Quality, Planning, Engineering) for the selection of required equipment based on capacity planning and utilization; identify project and resources requirements.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Planning and Engineering teams for scheduling of preventive maintenance and timely availability of utilities/breakdown/repairs of equipment.
  • Coordinate with other leaders to drive efficiencies within Cairo operations.
  • Ensure that goals and objectives of the production operations are achieved, and make effective operational decisions to positively impact objectives.
  • Responsible for production operational performance management systems and metrics and the issue identification, resolution, and/or escalation as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with SLT members and other internal customers.
  • Ensure an effective Talent Management process for talent identification, talent development and coaching, performance management and succession planning.
  • Partner with HR to ensure that all the people related issues, and union matters are managed appropriately based on the local labor law.
  • Create, establish, and maintain an environment that enables the Viatris Way culture: Own It, Be Real, Stay Agile, and Take Pride.
  • Foster an environment of ethical conduct and integrity of all production colleagues.
  • Ensure effective preparation of production operating budget to achieve saving targets and meet overall financial commitments.
  • Ensure high standards of Compliance to norms, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop strong direct reports; encourage and support the professional development of all colleagues within the production operations.
  • Abide by applicable local and Viatris Quality & EHS practices and standards at Cairo site to avoid accidents and preserve colleague and patient safety.
  • Ensure that all products manufactured at the site follow all the established quality and compliance requirements.
  • Ensures strict compliance with data integrity.


The minimum qualifications for this role are:

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of cGMPs and demonstrated success leading a GMP compliant production operations and interacting with regulators and inspectors.
  • Reasonable understanding of financial aspects to make sound business decisions.


Skills And Abilities

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills demonstrated aptitude and attitude to get involved in resolution of technical challenges and operational improvements.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and achieve goals and objectives.


Supervision

  • Organization of approximately 100 colleagues, plus outsourced functions and contingent workers as needed.
  • Directly supervises Managers and Administrative Assistant.


Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
  • Advanced degree is desirable.
  • English and Arabic Proficiency, written and verbal.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in pharmaceutical production environment.
